The Story Behind the Deck
I was born with sickle cell disease, so chronic illness has always been part of my life. But after experiencing pulmonary emboli a few years ago, I developed chronic pain. Living with pain every day was a different reality from the pain crises I’d grown used to.
Adjusting wasn’t easy. I experienced grief, frustration, and depression as I tried to make sense of this new chapter.
When I turned to affirmations, I struggled to find words that reflected what I was actually going through. So I started writing my own.
From Pain, With Peace was born from those words. Vol. I brings together 31 affirmations inspired by lived experience, each reviewed by a psychotherapist. What began as something personal is now something I’m ready to share.
Because you deserve words that make room for your reality, not ask you to look past it.
