The name Ìdẹ̀ra means comfort, ease, and wellbeing in Yoruba. It reflects the belief at the heart of everything we create: comfort isn’t a luxury. It’s something everyone deserves.
Inspired by lived experience with chronic illness and the realities of invisible challenges, disability, caregiving, burnout, and fluctuating capacity, ÌBA creates thoughtfully designed products and resources with real life in mind.
Because even on difficult days, life continues. There are still responsibilities to manage, places to go, people to care for, and moments you want to be part of.
So everything we create begins with a simple question:
How can we make life’s harder days a little easier to navigate?

Meet the Founder
Hi! I’m Azzy, founder of Ìdẹ̀ra by Azzy.
I was born with sickle cell disease, so chronic illness has always been part of my life. But after experiencing pulmonary emboli a few years ago, I developed chronic pain. Living with pain every day was a different reality from the pain crises I’d grown used to.
Adjusting wasn’t easy. I experienced grief, frustration, and depression as I tried to make sense of a life that suddenly looked different.
As I searched for ways to process those emotions, I turned to affirmations. But I struggled to find words that reflected my experience, so I started writing my own. Those words eventually inspired From Pain, With Peace, our affirmation card collection.
Another defining moment came during a flight when my rechargeable heat pad died. With only a USB port available, I spent the rest of the trip charging it for a few minutes, wearing it for a few minutes, and repeating the cycle over and over again.
I remember feeling frustrated and wishing there was a simpler way.
That experience stayed with me and sparked a question I couldn’t let go of:
What if comfort was designed with real life in mind?
That question eventually inspired Heat of the Moment, our self-heating comfort wraps designed to bring warmth into everyday life without the need for charging or reheating.
Together, these experiences helped shape Ìdẹ̀ra, a brand creating thoughtful products and resources for the realities of life’s harder days.
While Ìdẹ̀ra was born from my personal experiences, it’s about more than my story. It’s for anyone navigating challenges that aren’t always visible, and anyone who wishes everyday life made a little more room for what they’re carrying.
